History

Since 1985, Contrack has reached a number of notable milestones. Below is a timeline of a few of our accomplishments.

1985 Contrack is established as a Washington, DC corporation and opens a Branch Office in Cairo, Egypt.

1986 Contrack starts to provide US material procurement to a variety of corporate and US government agencies from Contrack's Washington, DC office and provides construction subcontracting services on US Government funded projects from its local office in Cairo, Egypt.

1990 Contrack is awarded its first construction contract as Prime Contractor for $1.9 Million.

1991 Contrack is named one of ENR Magazine's Top International Contractors for the first time.

1994 Contrack successfully completes a total of over $100M of construction projects with no lost time accidents.

1995 Contrack opens its second Branch Office in Doha, Qatar to oversee work in Qatar and to explore opportunities in the Persian Gulf.

1997 Contrack Engineering is created in Contrack's Egypt office to ensure the highest levels of control over quantity surveying, shop drawing preparations and basic engineering designs.

1998 Contrack expands into Bahrain and has been actively working there ever since. Orascom Construction Industries acquires 45% ownership of Contrack.

1999 Contrack is awarded its largest project ever as Prime Contractor in excess of $60M. Two years later, Contrack will be awarded a second phase of the same project in excess of $125 M.

2001 Contrack is named as one of ENR Magazine's Top International Contractors for the tenths consecutive year.

2003 Contrack opens its third Branch Office in Kabul, Afghanistan to support its work in Uzbekistan and Afghanistan and explore other opportunities in Central Asia. Contrack also starts working at several locations in Iraq in July of 2003, just months after the war is declared over.

2004 Contrack opens its Construction Training Center in Kabul, Afghanistan to address the lack of skilled labor in country.

2005 Contrack celebrates its twentieth anniversary and over $250M in revenue for the year. Contrack also joins forces with one of its long-standing partners, Stanley Consultants, Inc. to form a top notch engineering company, CSG Engineering, in Cairo, Egypt.
